Paradise in Indian Ocean

We believe so far Maldives is the home to one of the best beaches in the world… With some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world, the clear waters of the Maldives are an amazing vacation place for anyone with an interest in marine life.

The Maldives enjoys its best weather during December to February. We did our Maldivian vacation in December 2014.

What to Pack: Your beach wear and resort wear goes inside your bag. It is really important to keep in mind to travel your lightest for Maldives, as you may have to change more than three boats to reach your resort (not trying to scare you all, believe us, its worth it). Maldives surely Exceeds ones Expectations… it lives up the hype…!!

You can pack a sarong, sun glasses, hat/cap, a pair of flip flops. You would not need any formal footwear as you will be in your resort throughout your vacation. Instead you can carry a semi formal pair if you want.

Don’t forget to pack medications if you take any regularly. Do carry some basic medications as well. Carry sea sickness medications or bands with you.

You get really nice toiletries at your resort in Maldives (ours were awesome), still you may want to carry your favorite sunscreen lotion, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

Don’t forget your chargers and batteries for phones, touch-pads, etc. (Although, we would suggest stay away from all these on your vacation to Maldives). Any credit cards, membership cards, lounge access cards, etc. Your id card, some cash, ticket printouts, hotel reservation prints. Keep in mind to either take Maldivian rufiyaa from your home city, or exchange on the airport itself. Mostly you wont get any from your resort.

And the most important carry your camera and memory cards to make your vacation a memorable one.

How to reach: Firstly, you get Visa on arrival. You take a flight from your home city to Malé International Airport. Once you land at Malé, your resort chauffeur will guide you along (you might have to book your flight well in advance to reach your resort). Getting around in the Maldives takes three forms of transportation – boats, sea planes and private boat.

Where to stay: There are many resorts in Maldives. Choose which one suits you best, in terms of your budget, distance, activities it offers, etc. We choose Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa.

On our way back from our resort, we reached Male airport few hours before our flight departs. So we got this opportunity to capture Male city as well, which was 15 minutes boat ride from Male airport Island.
